An exciting opportunity has arisen in the role of waiting list coordinator within Community Dental Services, for 9 months secondment cover initially.
The post holder will provide administrative support to clinical staff working in the Community Dental Service. The post holder is responsible for the administrative process involving new patient referrals, their allocation to appropriate clinicians and clinical sites and waiting list coordination. This role also involves data collection, analysis and audit.
The role also involves answer telephone queries from patients, carers and other health care professionals. The post holder effectively coordinates communication with patients who may exhibit unpredictable behaviour and have disabilities and special care requirements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder provides administrative support to clinical staff working in the Community Dental Service. The post holder is responsible for the administrative process involving new patient referrals, their allocation to appropriate clinicians and clinical sites and waiting list coordination. This role also involves data collection, analysis and audit.
The WL coordinator administers all the CDS waiting lists, which involves validation of the lists and the booking of patient appointments.
The role also involves answer telephone queries from patients, carers and other health care professionals. The post holder effectively coordinates communication with patients who may exhibit unpredictable behaviour and have disabilities and special care requirements. They are also responsible for arranging any necessary translator services.
The WL coordinator collates the waiting list figures and assists the service manager in monthly waiting list reporting.
