A fantastic opportunity to join the Swansea Bay University Health Board Finance Team, as part of the Operational Finance Team (OFT).
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for providing financial advice across the Health Board to support budgetary control and management processes.
We are looking to recruit dynamic, forwarding thinking individual, who wants to change and improve the way things are done within the Team and provide a first class service for the NHS. The Department is looking to encourage and support individuals in their development either through on the job learning and rotating through various part of the team to gain experience and/or through supporting formal accountancy qualifications.

Main duties of the job
To assist in the provision of financial support, advice and information to the Delivery Units ensuring information is both timely and robust. Prepares and completes a range of financial information to an audit acceptable standard in line with financial timescales ensuring accuracy, relevance and robustness. Provides support to the day to day administration and maintenance of the monthly financial reporting process in accordance with Health Board Financial Control Procedures (FCP’s) and Standing Financial Instructions (SFI’s). To work as a member of the Team responsible for providing financial advice and support to the relevant Delivery Unit supporting budgetary control and management processes. Provide day to day support on key tasks undertaken by the Finance Officer with the OFT. Lead of behalf of the OFT on the day to day management of the Staff Form process. Ensuring that all staff forms received are processed in accordance with the relevant FCP and internal OFT protocol. Advise all staff within the Delivery Units of the agreed procedures to be followed and answer ad hoc queries as they arise. Production and maintenance of financial trend information involving the manipulation of financial data. |

Essential criteria
- 5 ‘O’ Levels/GCSE’s including Mathematics and English
- NVQ 4/AAT Technical Level or equivalent professional training
Desirable criteria
- Customer Care Training NVQ
- Supervising Qualifications or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of financial systems and packages
- Demonstrate the achievement of Personal and Team Excellence
- Extensive evidence of experience of financial systems and packages
