Job overview

Swansea is Wales’ second largest coastal city offering a superb work-life balance and a rich cultural environment, which is ideal for family life. The city is the gateway to the Gower Peninsula, designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Walking, fishing, surfing, canoeing and sailing flourish in the area and Walkers/ ramblers are spoilt for choice. The magnificent “Worms Head” snaking out to sea is one of the finest views in the world; yet you have all the facilities of urban life at hand. Excellent state and independent schools are available. There is easy access to the M4 corridor.

Singleton is a University Teaching Hospital allied to the College of Medicine at the rapidly expanding Swansea University and is a designated training unit for higher specialist training in Wales.  We are consistently rated highly in the GMC junior doctors’ surveys. There are excellent teaching and collaborative research opportunities with Swansea and Cardiff Universities. The medical school is consistently ranked 3rd or 4th best in national student surveys.

Applicants must be on the UK’s specialist register, or be within 6 months of their award of certificate of completion of training (CCT) or will be an established Consultant.
