Singleton is a University Teaching Hospital allied to the College of Medicine at the rapidly expanding Swansea University and is a designated training unit for higher specialist training in Wales. We are consistently rated highly in the GMC junior doctors’ surveys. There are excellent teaching and collaborative research opportunities with Swansea and Cardiff Universities. The medical school is consistently ranked 3rd or 4th best in national student surveys.
Applicants must be on the UK’s specialist register, or be within 6 months of their award of certificate of completion of training (CCT) or will be an established Consultant.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic Locum Consultant Dermatologists to join our friendly, dynamic, innovative department for a 12 month period fixed term. This post will provide cover at Neath Port Talbot and Singleton Hospitals. We encourage applicants to bring their own ideas and ways to develop the service for the future

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered with the GMC
- Licensed to practice
- MRCP or equivalent
- On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Dermatology. or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview and have passed exit exam or a statement of eligibility for registration issued by the GMC" or a primary medical qualification and recognized specialist qualification from a European Member State which will allow direct entry to the GMC Specialist Register
Desirable criteria
- Further relevant degree/diploma
- Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of an ability to develop effective working relationships, on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis with all levels of staff (”Working Together”)
- Evidence of working with management and clinical colleagues to improve a service (“Always Improving”)
- Values partnership with other agencies (”Working Together”)
- Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff
- Evidence of initiating, progressing and completing audit
- Experience of research in Dermatology
