Job overview

Come and work in beautiful Swansea Bay, with fabulous coastline, outdoor pursuits, and mountain walking all within easy travelling distance.

 An exciting opportunity has just become available, for clinicians with experience, to join our Band 6, 6 monthly rotation scheme in Swansea Bay. You will rotate between in-patients, out patients and community. Alongside `core` areas of practice, we have a number of specialist rotations available, including ALAC, Burns, Mental health ,plastic surgery, specialist palliative care, cardiac surgery, and pulmonary rehab. We can offer you the opportunity to work in teams with specialist band 6, and band 7 staff. Each team has a team leader, ensuring you will be provided with great learning opportunities and support.

Many of our senior team are educated to Masters level, or above, affording fantastic opportunities for CPD.

We have long established links with both Cardiff University, for undergrad and post- grad Physio education, including the provision of student placements. More recently, we have had opportunities to develop new relationships with the School of Health Science, and School of Medicine at Swansea University, both in terms of accessing post-grad courses, supporting research projects, and providing teaching and education to medical students.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to the specialist caseload across various sites within the SBUHB as the service requires.

To manage a defined caseload of clients with complex needs within this setting, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, maintaining associated records.

To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

To provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal as delegated by supervisor.

To supervise Physiotherapy students on clinical placements.

To deputise for the Senior Physiotherapists in their absence as required.

Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including a 7-day shift pattern, with extended working hours covering 365 days of the year.

To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in an in-service training scheme.

To work across the Health Board and travel between SBU Health Board sites as required to support service delivery.

To undertake lone working if required.

To be an active participant in the on-call rota
