Job overview
The Women’s Health Place Based Clinical Lead for Surrey Heartlands will join the Women’s Health Team and provide clinical leadership for the transformation of primary care pathways to meet the specific population needs of Surrey Heartlands. The successful post holder will work alongside the other Women’s health place-based clinical leads to champion the women’s health strategy agenda.
There are three roles available, one to cover each place within Surrey Heartlands; Surrey Downs, North West Surrey, and East Surrey.
Main duties of the job
Provide clinical leadership and support for transformation of primary care within the area of Women’s Health
• Assist in the development of the Surrey Heartlands GP workforce in the assessment and management of Women’s health issues in the community.
• Work with clinical and managerial leads to improve Women’s Health services and deliver them in line with the Long Term Plan and Women’s Health Strategy.
• Provide a healthy and robust challenge to partners across SH ICS, with the aim of improving patient care and experience.
• Undertake engagement with health and care professionals and relevant stakeholders to ensure wider support for improvements.
• Work alongside the other GP place leads to provide professional support, leadership, and specialist advice for Place-based and ICS Clinical Leads.

Core Experience
Essential criteria
- Current unrestricted registration with the GMC
- Active clinician working within the Surrey Heartlands Health and Care system
- Experience in delivering NHS change at a local, regional, or National level
- Experience in a clinical extended role capacity within women’s health/gynaecology/contraceptive/perinatal care/perinatal mental health
Desirable criteria
- Qualification, training or evidence of interest in Healthcare Leadership and Management
- Experience of delivering a portfolio of change projects
- Experience of representing an ICS/Place at senior meetings
Core Understanding and Skills
Essential criteria
- Understanding of the National NHS Ambition for Improved Women’s Health
- Strong understanding of governance
- Strong understanding of system challenges, and local place challenges
- Understanding of health and the broader social, political and economic environment
- Good influencing, persuasive, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to listen and understand other views and use information to inform own perspective
- An understanding of the implementation of evidence-based practice
Desirable criteria
- Ability to articulate in clear and objective manner and view issues from different perspectives
