Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The purpose of this role is to lead delivery of proactive and reactive IPC support to Care Homes and other non-healthcare settings:

  • As an experienced specialist nurse working in Infection, Prevention & Control (IPC) you will ensure systems and processes are in place to reduce the incidence of HCAI and other communicable diseases.
  • You will provide system resource, support, and expertise in IPC across Surrey Heartlands, providing assurance that performance and statutory/ CQC regulatory functions (as applicable) and responsibilities are met. You will be responsible for oversight and assurance to ensure safe, efficient, and effective IPC provision is maintained across the care home and other non-healthcare settings sector.

Knowledge, Training, and Experience

  • Registered Nurse
  • Recognised post graduate IPC qualification or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of the national IPC agenda, and an ability to translate this into operational delivery. Working knowledge/ awareness of system partner organisations and how these can work collaboratively within an Integrated Care System
  • Understanding of IPC challenges in care homes and non-healthcare sectors Working knowledge and experience of how Patient Safety Incident Reporting Framework (PSIRF) can integrate / align with HCAI review processes
  • Multi-agency collaborative working
  • Experience of partnership working across organisational boundaries Policy development
  • Developing training needs analysis and delivering training programmes and workshops, both face to face and virtually
  • Developing IPC audit programmes and supporting delivery Experience of chairing of key system meetings
  • Experience of leading change Knowledge of current national IPC policy and legislation: Regulation 12: Safe care and treatment - Care Quality Commission (cqc.org.uk) Health and Social Care Act 2008: code of practice on the prevention and control of infections - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
