Job overview

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is a package of continuing care that has been arranged and funded solely by the NHS to meet a person’s physical and mental health needs arising from disability, accident or illness.  It is for vulnerable people with complex, intense and unpredictable needs or people who are rapidly deteriorating and possibly entering a terminal phase.

 

NHS Frimley ICB is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Admin Team Manager to join the East Berkshire Continuing Healthcare team to provide senior leadership support to the CHC administrative team and provide administrative support to the CHC Senior Leadership Team.  Ideally, the candidate will have knowledge of CHC Framework and previous line management experience.

 

The role encompasses line management responsibility and the post holder will work closely with a second Admin Team Manager to ensure the administrative team are fully supported to enable them to provide a high functioning team and that our Service Users have ahigh quality positive experience.

 

The post holder will work closely with the Business Manager to oversee and support the management of all CHC operational processes in line with the NHS National Framework guidance.  This will include, but not limited to, 28-Day Pathway, CHC appeals, NHS England Independent Reviews, PUPoCs.

 

Main duties of the job

·         Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide senior leadership to the CHC administrative and secretarial services. The role will encompass line management responsibilities, preparation of agendas and minutes and taking appropriate follow-up action as required.

·         Supporting the CHC team with the management of projects, gathering of information and undertaking administrative tasks as and when required for the CHC senior leadership team, including support to the Associate Director of CHC & Complex Care and the department as a whole

·         Provide high quality project, service, initiative, and senior administrative support including information and analysis to the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Team to ensure the smooth running of the CHC Service.

·         Undertaking any project work as directed, including obtaining information form the Internet, collation, manipulation and reporting of data in order to produce reports and spreadsheets.

·      The post holder will be responsible for supporting the allocation of CHC and FNC assessments, re-assessments and reviews in acute, nursing home and community settings to enable application of the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including patients, families, local authorities, health professionals, NHS England colleagues. 

 

   Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives which may be highly complex, sensitive, political and contain contentious information, with the aim of providing information and analytical advice to CHC Team Leads and Senior Management Team.

 

 Work with members of the team to ensure data is accurate and maintained to a very high standard, enabling the smooth coordination of assessments and reviews ensuring they are carried out on time and within CHC KPIs.  

 

·         Communicate information, risks, issues and dependencies, including briefings and reports to Senior Management Team and a range of internal and external staff.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Senior knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis
  • Skills for communication on complex information and administrative matters, requiring developed interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge and experience of project management principles
  • Previously worked in similar position within the public sector
  • Ability to pull together comprehensive draft reports, data and letters Negotiating, networking and persuasive skills
