Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and hardworking Estates Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation of our hospital facilities. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Main duties of the job
What Youβll Do:
βοΈ Carry out semi-skilled maintenance tasks across hospital sites
βοΈ Conduct plant room checks and monitor essential systems
βοΈ Assist technicians and engineers with maintenance and repair work
βοΈ Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
What Weβre Looking For:
πΉ Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or building services)
πΉ Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
πΉ Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
πΉ Willingness to learn and develop within an NHS Estates team

βοΈ Drainage Services & Maintenance Checks β Maintain all drainage systems and carry out planned maintenance tasks
βοΈ Semi-Skilled Maintenance β Assist with general upkeep and minor repairs
βοΈ Support Technicians β Work alongside skilled professionals to complete essential maintenance tasks
βοΈ Shift Work & Flexibility β Participate in a rotating shift system, including late shifts & weekends
βοΈ Workplace Housekeeping β Ensure cleanliness and organization in workshops, stores, and working areas
βοΈ Job Docket Completion β Accurately record and complete maintenance jobs in a timely manner
βοΈ Team Support & KPIs β Help meet team targets, including the number of jobs completed per day
βοΈ Health & Safety Commitment β Promote and maintain safe working practices for yourself and others

Qualifications and experience
Essential criteria
- Level 2 trade qualification
- Previous building maintenance experience
- IT Competent
Desirable criteria
- NHS experience
- Knowledge of drainage systems
- Basic Plumbing knowledge
- First aid training
NHS experiance
Essential criteria
- To have previous experience working in a healthcare environment
Desirable criteria
- To have previous NHS experience
Communication Skills
Essential criteria
- Level 2 literacy and numeracy
