Job overview

Would you like to be part of something amazing?  Would you like to be involved in directly helping cancer patients? Following a recent business case approval, Frimley Health is investing in more pharmacy staff to manage the increasing demand on pharmacy cancer services. This new post offers security to pharmacists who would like the opportunity to specialise in cancer and progress from a band 7 to a band 8a. Training will be provided to become an accredited cancer  pharmacist and also to be validated to release chemotherapy  and monoclonal antibodies from our on site aseptic unit. We are committed to develop our staff,  working closely with our clinical pharmacy and education & training teams.  We welcome applications from pharmacists who want to start a career in hospital pharmacy and have a keen interest in the care of cancer patients.

Frimley Health provides haematology and oncology care to patients on an in-patient and outpatient basis across three sites. The sites provide care to patients in Surrey, East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. This post is based on the Wexham Park Hospital site.

The post holder will provide specialist clinical cancer services to the haematology day unit, haematology clinics, oncology wards, support clinical trials and undertake final checking within aseptic services.

Main duties of the job

You should have completed the clinical diploma or equivalent and be committed to continuing professional development within the field.

You must have hospital pharmacy experience involving clinical pharmacy skills preferably in a haematology and oncology setting (but this is ot essential)
