Job overview

This is a Handyman role to perform decorating and basic carpentry duties as the main job criteria. This is an excellent opportunity to use and gain building services experience in helping to provide an improved environment for the delivery of clinical care.

Our focus is on improving the Trust facilities and environment. You will be part of a team that provide an effective and efficient service to the engineering/building services ,equipment and the buildings.

You will need to have experience of working in an building maintenance environment .You will have good customer care skills, and be able to work on your own initiative. A flexible approach is required, as often you may be required to work at weekend and evenings. (This is not a post for electrical/mechanical)

The vacancy is based Wexham Park Hospital, SL2 4HL.

Main duties of the job

 Carry out reactive maintenance and checks of equipment, plantrooms and building fabric.

Assist maintenance technicians with responsibilities where required.

Monitor, clean and maintain general housekeeping and safe working environment of working areas.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Painting and Decorating
  2. Basic carpentry/Handyman skills
  3. Maintenance checks of  plantrooms
  4. Assisting technicians with duties as required
  5. General housekeeping of working areas, plantrooms, workshops, stores.
  6. Monitor the safe working environment of plantrooms
  7. Complete job dockets in timely manner
  8. Assist team with KPI targets, number of jobs per day
  9. Promote health and safety for yourself and others
  10. Flexible in approach to overtime and working hours
  11. Promote, follow and utilise the trust values
  12. Participate in the trust appraisal system
  13. To ensure an effective and responsible approach to customer care
  14.
