Job overview

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Care Assistant to join our dynamic and specialist Anticoagulation team.

The successful candidate will be expected to complement the existing team and contribute significantly to the ongoing development within our field.

Applicants must have exceptional inter-personal skills, be self motivated and able to work on their own initiative as well as within a small team. Liaison and communication with other professional groups, agencies and the user group, both within the hospital and in the community, will be an essential component of the role.

This vacancy is linked to a Level 2 Apprenticeship. This will support you to gain relevant knowledge, skills and experience that will help you achieve your potential in this role. Working alongside the Trust’s experienced staff you will be supported to gain the apprenticeship qualification and functional skills in maths and English if required. This is a great opportunity to gain a national recognised qualification while you are working and earning, which will support you in both this role and in your future career at Frimley Health.  

You will not be required to undertake an apprenticeship if you have previously completed a relevant apprenticeship, NVQ or similar qualification.

Main duties of the job

 
  • Carry out duties in support and under supervision of Anticoagulation pharmacist specialist/ Anticoagulation nurse specialist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of anticoagulation care.
  • To work collaboratively with inpatient areas as a member of the anticoagulation team.

  • Participate in care of patients under the direction and supervision of Anticoagulation pharmacist specialist/ Anticoagulation nurse specialist
  • To assist in the outpatient clinics when necessary and provide escort and transfer for patients if necessary.
  • To complete and record investigations and observations as appropriate including, reporting any abnormalities to Anticoagulation pharmacist specialist/ Anticoagulation nurse specialist.
  • Able to demonstrate an empathetic and  caring approach to patients and relatives and work so that patients’ dignity & respect
    is maintained at all times
