An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Records Officer to become part of our dynamic and busy Records Management Team. The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering an effective, efficient, and confidential records management service of the highest quality for the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this role is to support the Records Managers to produce an effective, efficient, confidential and high-quality records management service for the Trust, in accordance with best practice, the Trust’s Records Management Policy and Procedures and the Department of Health’s statutory requirements. This includes offering expert advice and support on records management to other services across the Trust.

  • Degree of equivalent experience or equivalent qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of records management and data protection legislation through working with health records or clinical experience/clinical environment
  • Knowledge of implementing the processes required using the current Data protection legislation particularly the UK-GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Knowledge of the Caldicott and Data Protection Act Principles
  • Knowledge of Court/Police Procedures through working with health records or clinical experience/clinical environment
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems, including scanning and uploading correspondence and processing confidential information
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in an office environment and working with databases
  • Experience of recording and communicating information accurately and appropriately and in line with quality standards

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
