A part-time opportunity has arisen to join our Dietetics Department at The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to be a part of our Intensive Care Team.
We are looking for somebody with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be working alongside our multi-disciplinary team of dietitians, intensivists, pharmacists, gastroenterologists, specialist nurses, and biochemists.
You will join a forward thinking dietetic team which undertakes the training of A, B and C placement students, and also focuses on research and audit in its areas of activity to promote clinical effectiveness in patient care. You will be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, with the chance to shadow and learn from specialist dietitians.

Main duties of the job
This post is based in the Intensive Care Unit at The Royal Surrey Hospital, and will provide some support to our nutrition support team for patients receiving Parenteral Nutrition in ICU. You will also be involved in delivering education sessions to healthcare professionals.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist dietetic care to patients cared for on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The post holder will be an integral part of the ICU dietetic team to provide a nutrition and dietetic service for inpatients receiving nutritional support in ICU. The post holder will support the Specialist ICU Dietitians and provide dietetic input inpatient ward rounds, and associated meetings (including regular MDT meetings).

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc in Dietetics or equivalent and registration with HCPC
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Member of the British Dietetics Association
- Membership of BDA specialist group (PENG/ CCG)
- Driving license
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Post qualification experience including nutrition support and enteral feeding
- Evidence of MDT work
- Evidence of experience in parenteral nutrition
- Evidence of experience in critical care
- Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations
- Evidence of teaching/lecturing experience to a variety of health professionals.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area
- Experience of working in acute and community settings

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
