Job overview

We are trialling a new Pharmacy Meds Management Band 3 post in our Acute Medicine areas. The post will focus on supporting admission, with an emphasis on transferring GP medication lists to our EPR systems. The post will also support the stock and ward services to the ED areas.

 

This post will be based at the Frimley Park Hospital

 

We are looking for a committed and motivated person with excellent organisational skills to develop this role. This will include the supervision and training or dispensary assistants and acting as a role model for pharmacy assistants.

 

You must possess good communication skills and be able to work to tight deadlines in this busy and challenging environment. Computer literacy and attention to detail is also important.

Decision to appoint will be based on both interview and content/ quality of application.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder supports the Lead Meds Management Pharmacy Technician. This will include:

    • To transcribe Drug histories from electronic sources such as ConnectedCare.
    • To assess and check PODs
    • To support pharmacy with the provision of Monitored Dosage System (MDS) to discharged patients.
    • To aid the clinical teams with Discharge Medicine Service (DMS) referrals to support community pharmacies.
    • Assist in the transfer of medicines between wards and locating medicines that have been left behind when patients are transferred between wards, including patient’s own drugs.
