Yes? That’s great! We have an exciting roles for two senior pharmacy technicians to lead, supervise and co-ordinate the work of the dispensaries at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust - Epsom site.

We’re a close-knit bunch, united in our purpose to  providing a first-class service to our patients, whilst looking out for one another as a first-class team! 

It’s fast paced and you’ll need a good eye for detail as well as excellent customer care skills in order to liaise effectively with our patients, and MDT members. You must be a qualified accredited checking technician (ACPT).

Main duties of the job

To assist in the management of the day to day operational organisation of the dispensaries, including the safe, efficient and timely dispensing of prescriptions following departmental policy, to meet the needs of the patient and the pharmacy department.

Please note these posts participate in Saturday and Sunday working as part of our 7-day service, Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.

In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

We are very a 10-12 minute walk from Epsom Station and have good transport links with the 293 and 470 bus stopping right outside the hospital! We also have a free inter-site shuttle bus that can take you between hospital sites in the Trust.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BTEC / NVQ Level 3 Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with GPhC
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) Certificate.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post qualification hospital experience
  • Experience in supervision of staff
  • Patient counselling
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with the CMM (formerly JAC) pharmacy computer system
  • Understanding of and participation in data collection for KPIs and audit
  • Dispensing/supply of clinical trials

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to organise own workload and that of others
  • Computer literate for dispensing and stock keeping/issue purposes
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to manage change
