Job overview
The St Peter’s Hospital Endoscopy unit is looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing individual to join its front of house Endoscopy reception team on a permanent basis. The Endoscopy service is currently expanding, and we are therefore looking to recruit 7 days working patterns.
This position is well suited to individuals with experience of public facing roles, or those interested in moving across into NHS administration.
You will be an enthusiastic and caring individual, who is well organised and able to prioritise tasks in busy environments. Previous experience in reception or front facing customer service roles is beneficial however not essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a professional, high quality reception support to the Trust’s Endoscopy department and clinical areas.
To act as the first point of contact for all Patients and Visitors to the Endoscopy Department
Provide administrative support for the Clinical staff and the Clinical Office Administration Team
To be proficient on the hospital computer systems as required

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Endoscopy Centre Reception team currently provides a comprehensive and welcoming service to patients across a 7 day service (Monday-Sunday) including part-timers. They are expected to greet patients into the department, register their attendance and inform clinical teams of their arrival.
The receptionist will carry out their duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the administration of the Endoscopy Centre Reception. It is essential that the Receptionist should exercise initiative within the role and vital that confidentiality be maintained at all times. It is also expected to help with admin duties when needed.
Due to the nature of the Endoscopy Service the Endoscopy Reception is open Monday-Sunday.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE A-C grade or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NHS Receptionist Experiece in a patient facing role.
Experience

- Previous administration experience in any context.

- Experience of working in patient facing environments

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
