We currently have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking, proactive and highly motivated Scrub Team Leader to lead the Urology and Gynaecology Speciality within our Theatre Department.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual, who is currently part of a theatre team. The candidate should have relevant scrub experience and be willing to contribute towards developing and maintaining a stimulating learning environment.

As a Team Leader you will be expected to demonstrate being an excellent role model, and have the skills and knowledge to be an effective leader. You will be able to provide specialist clinical support and be encouraged to work towards acting up in the absence of matron.

You will work closely with the other Team Leaders and Matron in the establishment of a good working environment and in making the most effective/efficient use of staff, supplies and services.

You will be expected to participate in the effective clinical leadership and management of the team, including managing sickness absence, performing appraisals, supporting and developing junior and new members of the team; and be committed to delivering a high-quality service to ensure patient care, safety and experience is the best it can be.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Take personal responsibility to maintain own continuous professional development and safe work practice.

You will be required to demonstrate leadership and supervision of others carrying out all aspects of the caring process.

In the absence of matron, you will be expected to deputise and take charge of department. You will be expected to help maintain high standards of practice and act as a role model to your team.
