Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse Band 7

We are the Lead level 3 NICU for Surrey and part of the Surrey, Sussex and Kent Network, providing expert care for 28 of the sickest and most complex babies using the most up to date ventilatory support techniques such as Vapotherm in the delivery room.

Some of these babies require specialist treatments and St Peter’s NICU has both Cooling Therapy and Nitric oxide Therapy available for the sickest babies. We have an 8 bedded Transitional Care Unit (TCU) where Mothers can remain with their babies up until discharge. We host the Surrey arm of the  Neonatal Transport Service.

We are looking to recruit a Band 7 nurse who is ready to lead in an innovative environment where every team member makes a difference. As a Band 7 nurse, you will be a role model and your expertise and experience will be valued as you provide mentorship to those nurses progressing through the Bands. Deputising for the Band 8 means you will have a clear understanding of the unit’s goals and priorities, and part of your role will be to take managerial responsibilities for a designated area.

Opportunities to develop your own area of particular interest will be supported and encouraged. Continued Professional Development is essential and our Education team will support you to meet your needs.  The unit is a friendly, vibrant, diverse and supportive multi-disciplinary team where you will be welcomed to join and make a difference in the care of neonates.
