Acute Therapies Assistant Band 4
A great opportunity has arisen for a B4 technician, based at St Helier Hospital
This role is to assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in providing a high
standard of therapy services to in-patients at St. Helier Hospital and to undertake duties to support the smooth functioning of the therapy departments and service.

Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist and skilled assistance in the delivery of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services for adults and older people.
- To plan, review and independently implement specialist rehabilitation and enablement programs for a variety of clients in varying settings, within a defined area of competence.
- To work closely with Multidisciplinary Teams and other professionals, particularly in relation to patient mobility and enablement, including assessment for and provision of appropriate equipment, and to assist in the development of good working relationships with statutory, voluntary and independent organisations.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Education history including GCSE 1-9 or equivalent
- A good understanding of the role of Physiotherapy
- Completion of Care Certificate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working within an acute hospital setting
- Evidence of self motivated working
- Previous experience of working as a therapy assistant
Personal skills
Essential criteria
- Evidence of good team working
- Evidence of good communication
- Evidence of good initiative
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of IT competence
Working under pressure
Essential criteria
- Evidence of working in stressful environments

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
