Are you an enthusiastic, hard-working and patient-focused person, interested in gaining experience within a Hospital Pharmacy? If so, we have a position at St Helier Hospital to suit you.
We are looking for a keen individual to join our friendly Patient Services Pharmacy team working in a busy environment to help us provide an efficient service to our in-patients and out-patients. Previous experience in pharmacy dispensing systems and a NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services is essential.
Experience working in a busy hospital pharmacy environment is desirable and you must have excellent attention to detail.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of a computer, have proven organisational skills and demonstrate an attention to detail in their work. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
You will play a key role in labelling and dispensing medication for our patients. You will also carry out general housekeeping, filing and receptionist duties and undertake daily stock checks as well as book prescriptions into the Prescription Tracking Service (PTS).
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm with 60 minutes lunch. You will also participate in the seven day, late duty and Bank Holiday rotas.
To be considered, candidates must hold an NVQ qualification Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or an equivalent recognised qualification. Previous hospital experience is desirable and an enthusiasm for a new challenge and a willingness to learn are key!
