Do you believe that Keeping mothers and babies together should be the cornerstone of newborn care?........If so this is the role for you!

It is an exciting time for Neonatal services at St Helier's as we expand to support our Maternity colleagues to deliver exceptional Neonatal Transitional Care (NTC).  The post holder will be part of Neonatal nursing team and work flexibly across the Neonatal unit and Postnatal ward, dependant on service need.

The successful post holder will work alongside families, supporting and teaching  parents to care for their  newborn or premature babies in preparation for discharge home. The post holder will be expected to take a patient load and work independently, under the supervision of the Neonatal nursing team. Further expansion of the service in March 2025 will see the addition of a band 5 Neonatal nurse on every shift. This  will enable a full range of Special Care interventions to be delivered on the postnatal ward at the mother's bedside.

As a new service we will be providing a bespoke 6 week orientation and education program. The go live date for this service is the 1st October 2024 and therefore we are looking for staff to commence employment six weeks prior to this date (19th August 2024). However if  find this date challenging do not be put off applying, give us a call to discuss.

Please note this role is a shift worker position, as such you would be expected to work  a variety of long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life. We cover some of the most prosperous postcodes in the country, as well as some poorer areas. Together with our colleagues at NHS Surrey and NHS Sutton and Merton, we work to make sure that we deliver the best possible care to the communities we serve.

The Trust employs approximately 5,000 staff across its hospitals and is supported by over 500 volunteers.
