Job overview

Frimley Health is seeking a determined and highly-committed Senior Project Manager to join its digital projects team.   The role will be based in the Greenwood Offices, Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot, with the postholder working across other sites including Frimley Park and Wexham Park according to the projects they manage.

The postholder will deliver a portfolio of crucial, high-profile projects - to time and budget, and ensuring key benefits are defined, measured, and delivered - as well as managing colleagues in the team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will have the following responsibilities:

Lead a portfolio of digital projects which will be complex and interconnected, under the direction of the Head of Digital Programmes.

  Plan, support, facilitate, and monitor the performance and progress of these projects.

  Ensure the delivery of digital projects is fully integrated with the digital team to effective transition to Business as Usual at the end of the project. 

  Take responsibility for working closely with key stakeholders involved in the project who are likely to be from a wide range of roles across the Trust.

  Ensure timely delivery of all their projects which it is anticipated will make a very significant contribution towards the Trust’s overall digital transformation programme. 

  Liaise with all other digital project managers to ensure inter-dependencies are properly identified and managed escalating problems to senior level where required.

  Share and exploit best practice within the Trust and through networking with similar organisations and through benchmarking.

  Work collaboratively with the transformation team to deliver benefits from digital projects.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Master’s degree level or relevant professional qualification/experience
  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to develop highly effective relationships with key stakeholders including consultants, senior nurses and senior managers.
  • Communicates effectively in writing, including formal report writing, Business Case development, designing & delivering development projects for colleagues

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Project management experience at a senior level in complex NHS hospital environment
  • Experience of delivering and completing a large digital project of at least £500k in value
