MRI Radiographer

NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

We are pleased to be able to offer exciting opportunities for Radiographers who would like to join our friendly and supportive MRI team.

We are looking for individuals who are fascinated by anatomy and pathology, work well in a small team, are flexible, friendly, and look forward to the future MRI holds.

Whether you are an experienced MRI radiographer looking for a new challenge, a radiographer who is interested in a change of direction or indeed a new graduate with little experience in the cross-sectional environment, we are keen to hear from you. As a newly qualified Radiographer this would be a Band 5 post with training and support provided to progress to Band 6 when all required competencies are fully met and evidenced.

We currently have 2 Siemens (Altea/Aera) MRI systems at the West Suffolk site and delighted to announce the opening of our Newmarket CDC wherewe are installing a GE Signa Voyager.

In addition, we are also excited to confirm the development of a new state of the art hospital in Bury St Edmunds which will have a further 2 scanners taking us to a total of 5 MRI systems by 2030

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the MRI cross-sectional team using initiative, skills and knowledge to provide a high quality, professional service at all times.

To perform MRI procedures according to departmental, trust and governing body regulations.

To assist in day-to-day running of the MRI lists with the ability to prioritise and organise workload including modification of scanning lists to accommodate urgent and emergency cases.

To maintain a safe working environment within the MRI Department

To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development

We are a busy, friendly, rural NHS Trust providing high-quality care and compassion to more than a quarter of a million people across west Suffolk. We care for, treat and support people in hospital, at home and in various community settings.

The West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds provides acute and secondary care services (emergency department, maternity and neonatal services, day surgery unit, eye treatment centre, Macmillan unit and children's ward). It has 500+ beds and is a partner teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.

Adult and paediatric community services, provided in collaboration with West Suffolk Alliance partners, include a range of nursing, therapy, specialist, and ongoing temporary care and rehabilitation, some at our Newmarket Community Hospital.

We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for patients and our values of fairness, inclusivity, respect, safety and team work guide how we work and behave as a team.

With nearly 5,000 staff, from all over the world, we strive to make our organisation a great place to work. Whatever your role or ambition, we want to help you be the best you can be.

We promote a diverse and inclusive community where everyones voice counts and you can #BeKnown for whoever you are.

Join us. What will you #BeKnown for?
