Paediatric Dietitian (Development Role)

NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Suffolk Dietetic service.  The department consists of 43 Dietitians, Nurses, Support staff and administrators providing an integrated service to West Suffolk Hospital and the wider community.  The West Suffolk Dietetic service is forward thinking, innovative and friendly department.  We fully support and encourage self-development within our service.

We are seeking a Band 5-6 Paediatric Dietitian to join our dynamic paediatric team consisting of different specialities and general dietetics.  We are willing to provide training to the right candidate who may not have specific experience or may be waiting for registration after completing a recognised Dietetic course.  There will be opportunities to develop your skills in all areas of dietetics.

Main duties of the job

The role will entail managing 2-3 clinics a week, attending MDT meetings, visiting patients at home and in specialist schools.  We are in the process of developing the community service, so this will be an exciting time to join the team and influence future provision.  The postholder will be fully supported by the Paediatric Community Lead dietitian.

There will be potential to work from home 1 day a week if required and also an opportunity to gain experience in the acute setting.

Please see job description and personal specification for further details.
