Band 8C, £70,417 - £81,138 per annum pro rata

15 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a driven and dynamic individual with experience in the delivery of education and training in the field of psychological practise.

This is a new post within our organisation,  and will involve responsibility for the line management and support of our trainee clinical psychologists, as well as supporting us to develop our wider training offer across North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust.

The position will be attached to the Head of Psychological Professions within corporate services, however, the work itself will be targeted towards building strong connections with our clinical areas and university partners.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • In agreement with the Head of Psychological Professions, to provide clinical leadership and direction in the designated area (teaching/training) .
  • To be compassionate in meeting the needs of trainees, colleagues, clients, their carers and families.
  • To provide expert advice, clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues and to other healthcare professionals across the organisation.
  • To provide leadership in the continual development and provision of excellence across the speciality and to provide operational line management to the NSCHT Trainee Clinical Psychology cohort.
  • Accountable for own professional practice in the delivery of highly specialist psychological care to (and/or advice regarding) clients with severe and enduring mental health conditions or learning disabilities (which include significant challenging behaviours and risk of physical aggression), as well as for the delivery of highly specialist education and training processes.
  • To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental ill health, physical health or learning disabilities.
  • To promote at all times a positive image of the service and the wider Trust

  • Establish consistent and effective processes to ensure that NSCHT provides high quality student and trainee placements for the Psychological Professions in sufficient numbers to achieve local and national requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and processes with regional partners and other NHS and independent organisations providing psychologically informed training, supervision and consultancy staff to the community to address arising issues
  • Maintain overview of national, regional and local requirements for students, trainees and apprenticeships for these professional groups.
  • Advise on new professional training initiatives across the psychological professions.

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • HCPC registered

Essential

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical / counselling psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
  • Clear ongoing commitment to specialist area of expertise through post-doctoral study and experience.
