Pathology Support Worker

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Histology Office Team as a Pathology Support workers at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to perform  a range of routine tasks within Pathology. Provide clerical and relevant support to the Histology Office, Laboratory and Pathologists. The role involves slide filing and the transportation, sorting and data entry of samples.

Essential Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ in customer related/ administration

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions, processes and instructions
  • Basic keyboard skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality within the organisation
  • Ability to realise when it is necessary to liaise with supervisors
