An excellent opportunity has arisen for the right person to become the Director of Partnerships, Strategy and Digital across North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust.

You will enhance the partnership and joint working approaches and help shape place based models of care across North Staffordshire.

The role will work in partnership with key stakeholders, ensuring that we are responsive, well placed to influence the continued improvement of services and proactively seeking out and developing new business.

With responsibility for the Strategy, Business Development and Digital portfolios, the post holder will operate within a complex business and commercial arena and will have proven experience of working at a senior level and can demonstrate proven benefits from actively working in partnership.

We are seeking an individual that demonstrates our Trust values and behaviours, possesses excellent strategic leadership skills, highly developed communication skills and has a proven track record of delivery.

You will be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, supporting the strategic direction of the Trust and its partners in developing new care models and driving innovation.

Main duties of the job

All Directors are expected to work as part of a cohesive team and, when necessary take lead responsibility for corporate duties outside of their immediate sphere of accountability and participate in management on call arrangements.

Develop the Trust’s approach to participation and influence across the Integrated Care System and related bodies, groups and forums with particular emphasis on Place and Provider Collaboratives – both vertical within our ICS and horizontally across services. 

Lead the development of Trust Strategy including long term vision, strategic direction and governance arrangements. To support the delivery of these strategic ambitions through establishing effective arrangements for Trust-wide operational plans, system-wide alignment across planning and delivery arrangements and effective partnership arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Integrated Care System

 

·      Develop governance arrangements that ensure engagement from the full range of public services in the effective transformation of health and social care.

·     Support the establishment and effective operation of the emerging Integrated Care System and related bodies including Place and Provider Collaboratives

·  To represent the Trust in the emerging Place and Provider Collaborative arrangements both within the local system and wider Midlands region

 

Strategic Development and Planning

 

The post holder will lead in the development of the Trust strategy.  This post holder will be able to work within a highly complex business environment to support:

 

·       Co-ordinating and leading all aspects of the strategic planning framework and the production of the annual and longer term business plans.

·    Establishing effective monitoring processes that ensure delivery of the organisation’s key aims and objectives as part of the Business Planning Process.

·     Leading service and business planning processes and monitoring delivery and performance of these to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient-centred services that meet national, local and corporate priorities.

 

Primary Care Development

 

Lead on the support and development of primary care to:

 

·       Ensure the Trust has a robust delivery model of primary care services.

·       Governance is well defined and integrated across primary care teams.

·       Support transformation of primary care.

 

Business and Commercial Development

 

The post holder will lead on:

 

·       Securing growth of income including growth into new business or service areas.

·       Developing effective partnership and joint ventures that add value to the service delivery and deliver development projects on time and to budget.

 

Digital 

·       Provide strategic leadership for Digital across the Trust aligned with the delivery of the strategic objectives of the Trust.

·       Develop and lead the implementation of the Trust Digital Strategy

·       Develop relationships with external partners to facilitate the progression of the Trust Digital Strategy

·       Lead the effective discharge of the Trust’s information Governance responsibilities

The CSO will assume the role of the Trusts Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and will take overall ownership of the Organisation’s Information Risk Policy, act as champion for information risk on the Board and provide written advice to the Accounting Officer on the content of the Organisation’s Statement of Internal Control in regard to information risk.  The SIRO will implement and lead the NHS Information Governance (IG) risk assessment and management processes within the Organisation and advise the Board on the effectiveness of information risk management across the Organisation.

  • Education to at least Masters degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a strategic and business development level.
  • Evidence of further study and professional development

Knowledge and skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of the market for health care.
  • Comprehensive understanding of management.
  • Proven track record in obtaining significant business in a business development function.
  • Ability to develop empathetic relationships with a wide range of people.
Desirable criteria
  • Detailed knowledge of developments in health and social care provision.
