Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well-established and respected Occupational Therapy Service within the Rheumatology Department based in the Out-Patient area at Haywood / Bradwell Hospitals in Stoke on Trent. You will be an autonomous and specialised practitioner, maintaining a complex clinical caseload, specialising in the fields of Rheumatology / Musculoskeletal and Trauma and Orthopaedic Hand Therapy. Interventions focus on rehabilitation, education, self-management and lifestyle advice for chronic and acute conditions and injuries. We work closely with the multidisciplinary team and have strong links with other service providers.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is positive, enthusiastic and innovative with the ability to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and IT skills. The ability to evidence high quality clinical skills, excellent knowledge and experience of working in a busy integrated team. You will independently manage their own caseload and contribute to department and service needs as required.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
- BAOT Registered and Current registration with HCPC
- Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy
Desirable criteria
- Modules at Masters level Evidence of further clinical study
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience to the role including assessment and management of various conditions within the area of clinical speciality
- Ability to manage time and caseload effectively. Supporting service users, families and carers in dealing with issues within the area of clinical speciality.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations.
