Business Architect Support Officer

Job overview

The post holder will, under the direction of the Systems Architect and EPR Configuration Manager and Senior Business Architect be responsible for specifying and supporting the development requirements of a number of clinical and non-clinical applications to fully realise there is utilisation within and across the various clinical services operating across the trust.

The Business Architect team will be responsible for leading forward in the development and introduction of new technologies to deliver improved services and systems for the end users.

The role with require supporting on a number of project and development work streams. This includes the responsibility for notifications to teams regarding system updates, systems development, configuration changes, security management, and liaison with other business areas and external suppliers to support service delivery and retirement of systems no longer needed, so that the cost and quality benefits are realised.

The development and support team works within a service delivery framework, the development and consistent adoption of best practice policies and procedures based on an AGILE, ITIL v4, release management, maintaining system configuration and documentation, managing faults and failures to resolution as well as resolving data quality issues within any systems or application.

Main duties of the job

  • Supports design and specification of clinical and non-clinical systems
  • Works with suppliers to specify technical criteria for system integration
  • Produces specifications for application development and clinical systems integration
  • Works with teams across the organisation to develop and support system functionality
  • Ensures technical and support documentation is up to date
  • Organises workshops, presentations, and stakeholder meetings
  • Escalates issues to the Systems Architect and EPR Configuration Manager
  • Works with other teams to ensure system changes are cascaded and staff are aware of changes
  • Maintains knowledge of technological advances and standards, and evaluates their potential to improve systems

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level, relevant professional experience or professional qualification in relevant computer based discipline An understanding of system development within the NHS or comparable commercial experience in related field

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a demanding support and development of clinical systems
  • Experience of formulating robust requirements documentation, testing and software release documentation, development UAT acceptance criteria documentation
  • Experience of working to agreed time project time scales.
  • Experience of working with 3rd Party Suppliers and raising service calls and escalating issues and problems
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of web software development application and tools and applications.
  • Experience of SharePoint or other content management tools
  • Experience of forms development and systems configuration
  • Experience of configuration, change and release management to ensure standardised methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all releases and changes to systems.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience in a Project Support role (it is anticipated that this role will necessitate involvement in supporting delivery of projects.)
  • Experience of working within a project environment
  • Experience in the identification of project requirements, design, and evaluation of outputs
  • Experience in identifying Information Governance/ICT security issues within IM&T projects.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Coding within systems ICD-10, POCS-4 and SNOMED
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Products
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures, Systems Documentations and FAQ’s articles
  • Knowledge of Clinical Applications either local or national hosted applications e.g. ServeLec Rio, Lorenzo IPM, TPP SystmOne.

  • Ability to work unsupervised and support resources to ensure the clinical services are supported and changes are delivered with agreed SLA’s.
