Assistant Psychologist in Maternal Mental Health fixed term

Our friendly, supportive, Maternal Mental Health Service is looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join the team for a fixed term period, to develop and deliver a number of projects to enhance the offer for families whose mental health has been significantly impacted by birth trauma, perinatal loss or tokophobia. It is an excellent opportunity for those aspiring to pursue doctoral training, as the role will involve both research and clinically related activities.
In stepping into this post, you would be a much valued member of our team, and have ample opportunities to learn more about this growing Psychology led specialism.
The role will involve working in our Psychology led team, under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist.
Duties will include working with the team to design and develop a number of projects to enhance the offer for families, for example literature reviews, audit and service evaluation. You will work along another Assistant Psychologist in the team, supporting gathering and analysis of outcome data for the service, and the offer of wellbeing calls for clients currently waiting for specialist interventions. There may be opportunities to support the delivery of brief interventions under supervision, and co-facilitation of groupwork as required.

The post-holder will support the Lighthouse Maternal Mental Health Service to develop and deliver a number of projects to enhance the offer for families whose mental health has been significantly impacted by birth trauma, perinatal loss, or tokophobia

The post-holder will use research skills for conducting literature reviews, audit and service evaluation

The post-holder will be an integral part of the Psychology led team, and support the delivery of therapeutic interventions where appropriate

The post-holder will assist in the delivery of group interventions and wellbeing calls for families as required

The post-holder will compile and disseminate relevant resources, and assist with clinically related administration

The post holder will promote and maintain good working relationships with clients, their families, carers and other external agencies

Qualifications

- Honours degree or higher in psychology
- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
Experience

- Experience of work with psychology and/or mental health clients
- Experience of working within multi-disciplinary settings and multi-agency settings
- Experience of research methods, audit or other service evaluation techniques
- Has worked with applied psychologists and has an awareness of professional standards/issues.
