Job overview

We are looking for passionate and motivated individuals to provide exceptional levels of customer care as part of a dedicated team for Newcastle-Under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands including answering all incoming calls for these locations.  

A strong sense of teamwork and commitment to maintaining high standards is essential to this position.  In addition, you will be required to provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical activities to meet the needs of our Countywide Sensory Team and Occupational Therapy Team and will effectively communicate related information and advice to enable the teams to achieve operational excellence. 

On appointment, you will be enrolled in the Social Worker Learning Academy (SWLA) and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework.  The relevant SWLA ‘stage’ (i.e. stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration. You will be required to take responsibility for your own Continuous Professional Development. 

Main duties of the job

As part of this role you will be required to undertake general office duties and support the teams where required and will be responsible for inputting data, data cleansing, maintaining records and providing support to the social workers. 

A good standard of literacy and numeracy is required along with good communication and interpersonal skills, IT skills, including well developed data entry skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, ability to multitask and prioritise own workload.

Qualification and Training

Essential criteria
  • Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • IT qualification equivalent, i.e. NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
  • Willingness to undertake training relevant to the post

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of using computer based information systems in an office environment
  • Ability and experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office and MS Teams and have accurate and competent keyboard skills
  • Previous experience of working with the public both on a face to face basis and over the telephone
Desirable criteria
  • Experience at organising, attending meetings and minute taking
