We are looking for an enthusiastic HCPC Registered Podiatrist to join our well-established Podiatry Team in North Staffordshire.

This would be an excellent opportunity for either a newly qualified podiatrist or someone who is looking for a change or next step in their career.

You will be working with a dedicated team of podiatrists, podiatry assistants and be part of a wider Multi-Disciplinary Team to effectively deliver services. You will also be supported to work as an autonomous practitioner assessing; diagnosing; care planning; and reviewing child and adult patients with a multitude of clinical conditions. Our advanced practitioners in biomechanics, paediatrics, rehabilitation, rheumatology, diabetes & wound care provide expert help and advice and offer mentorship programs to all staff. 

We offer Oxleas preceptorship development opportunities. You will be encouraged to take part in various CPD activities including clinical support, supportive supervision and in-house training during team meetings.

Due to the nature of this role you should have the ability to adequately travel around the large area covered by our service

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Podiatrist who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have a commitment to deliver exceptional patient care and assist patients to achieve their potential.

As a qualified Podiatrist you will focus on:

·       Assessing new service user referrals and care/support needs. Assess service users and formulate, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of treatment /care/support for individuals, families and carers. The care/support plans may include the following:

o   Promoting independence/self-management and maintaining safety

o   Increased functional ability

o   Interventions in disease/condition management

o   Prevention and reducing of health inequalities

o   Admission avoidance

o   Early supported discharge

o   Case management/ treatment/ care plans

o   Palliative and end of life care

·       Use professional knowledge and judgement to take into account the range of care/support packages and treatment options available. To consider each service user’s personal circumstances and preferences in order to implement and adjust programmes of care and intervention.

• Have supervisory responsibilities as required (e.g. work allocation) and may have some responsibility for service developments.
