Clinical Nurse Lead

7

Job overview

Are you looking to advance your career as a nurse without moving into a management role? Do you have a passion for working  within a women’s specific Mental Health service in a custodial setting? Are you a prescriber or willing to undertake training?

Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Team at HMP Drake Hall is looking for a dynamic and experienced registered mental health nurse.

This is an exciting and diverse role for an individual who is passionate about providing excellent quality nurse leadership.  You will have the privilege to influence and lead the provision of high-quality mental health care to some of society’s most vulnerable members.

You would be joining a caring and compassionate multi disciplinary team committed to Recovery focussed and trauma informed approaches to care.

The Service is responsible for assessment, planning and the delivery of a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions to support mental health and substance use needs for some of the most socially excluded women in society. An interest in perinatal mental health and women’s health issues would be desirable.

Main duties of the job

  • Working effectively within the team you will provide expert clinical knowledge and interventions, advice, support and supervision in the multi-disciplinary pathway to colleagues, service users and carers.
  • You will be responsible for providing leadership to deliver best practice, evidence based care and interventions and provide professional nursing leadership within the team.
  • A key function will be to support the delivery of a trauma informed culture across the estate and identify opportunities for research and development.
  • Lead on the fostering of a just culture and, in doing so, provide a compassionate and nurturing approach to the team.
