Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Day Care Unit (DCU) team as a NMC Registered nurse.

The DCU based between Bradwell Hospital and the Haywood Community Hospital (Due to current works at the Haywood you will be based at Bradwell initially) provides biologic therapies for patients with long term conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Connective tissue disorders and Osteoporosis. We also deliver blood transfusions and facilitate other clinics such Ultrasound scanning and Spinal caudal epidurals.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivering outstanding care, would be a team player, have excellent communication and organisational skills, relevant clinical skills and experience including knowledge of Rheumatology.

Main duties of the job

As a NMC registered nurse within the DCU you will be expected to:

·       Undertake cannulation, the preparation and administration of IV Therapies.

·       Ensure safe care delivery via patient monitoring and observation

·       Be responsible for triaging referrals, booking appointments and monitoring blood results

·       Maintain pharmacy and clinical stock levels

·       Complete documentation- discharge letters, care plans, computer systems and audits

·       Assistance with the day to day tasks required to facilitate the smooth running of DCU
