Medical equipment types range from basic monitoring equipment to highly complex imaging and therapy equipment such as MRI scanners, lasers, gamma cameras and life support equipment.

The budget of this section is £7.4million of which approximately £3.6million is for the running of the section (90% of medical equipment is maintained ‘in house’) and approximately £3.8million for external maintenance contract management.

MDMS also operates a medical equipment library to support the organisation in the management and provision of a range of essential medical devices including for example infusion pumps, negative pressure wound therapy devices, bladder scanners and devices to manage bariatric patients.
