Would you like the opportunity to work as a part of a progressive, patient focused pharmacy  aseptic service?   

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and positive individual  to join our team. The team at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust comprises of approximately 500 pharmacy staff working across five sites and is one of the biggest pharmacy departments in the country.

Main duties of the job

To participate in the provision and maintenance of a comprehensive pharmaceutical service as part of the flexible working team in line with the current policies and procedures for Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Being responsible for stock maintenance and control including ordering and sourcing alternatives for out of stocks.

To be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Aseptic -based Pharmacy Support Workers.  Create and implement rotas or similar for allocation of staffing resource.
 Assist the management team with managing attendance procedures including welcome back to work meetings and conduct selected annual staff appraisals, delivering feedback, and setting development objectives.

 Upholding the Trust PROUD standards. Creating and demonstrating a positive and constructive environment within the Department.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • BTEC or NVQ 3 or willing to work towards in either Pharmacy Services or Warehousing and Storage, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of short courses /qualifications or equivalent demonstrable experience in supervision of staff including undertaking appraisals / performance reviews / sickness absence reviews.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training – such as NVQ /supervisory and management courses.
  • Certificate in Good Distribution Practice (GDP)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good Working knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH
  • Work to high standards of accuracy and reliability demonstrable from previous experience
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrable from previous experience
  • Experience of using pharmacy-based computer systems
  • Ability to tolerate interruptions and to deal with complaints.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to cope with occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions
  • Ability to work in an isolator for prolonged times. Standing for long periods
  • Microsoft Office Packages – evidence of short courses or relevant experience.
  • Able to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods and work under pressure
