An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse position within MSK at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

The post is for Sheffield Elective Orthopaedic Centre and includes a day case, inpatient ward, and enhanced care unit. The centre is committed to providing high quality patient care, driving quality improvement, and promoting a compassionate and inclusive environment.

Main duties of the job

 

The successful candidate will be required to work to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals PROUD standards and behaviours and will need to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be committed to providing high standards of safe, effective, and compassionate care to this patient group in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team that meets the expectations of individual patients and their families.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with NMC
  • To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
  • Degree or evidence of actively working towards degree level of study
  • Certificate in management and Leadership or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Master’s level study
  • Post graduate education relevant to the role

Experience

  • Relevant post registration experience
  • Evidence of management experience
  • Evidence of personal and professional development
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience of patient flow
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of the care and treatment of Orthopaedic patients
  • Experience of leading and managing change
  • Experience at sister / charge nurse level
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and inspire staff and initiate changes
  • Experience of MDT working
  • Experience and knowledge of clinical governance
  • Commitment to continuous personal development

  • Previous experience in a critical care environment
