Job overview

Housekeepers help to maintain an environment that is tidy, clean and welcoming for our patients, their families and visitors. They are an important and valued member of the team who are key to the provision of a high quality service, positive patient experience and provide a supporting role to the Senior Sister and the nursing staff between the Acute Medical Unit and Same Day Emergency Care area. 

 

Main duties of the job

Your role will include working in close partnership with the ward team and with other member of the multi- disciplinary team, for example estates, domestics, ward assistants, porters and catering staff.

We would like you to develop a sense of ownership for your unit and will be responsible for ordering and serving meals, monitoring of stock, running errands and ensuring the ward cleanliness and tidiness is of an excellent standard.

The successful applicant must have a good basic education, good communication skills and possess good timekeeping / management skills. They must have experience of dealing with and working alongside a wide range of people and the ability to demonstrate practical and organisational skills.

 Training and development is a high priority in this care group and your own personal development will be actively supported.

  • GCSE Math and English at grade 3/D or equivalent experience/qualifications.
