Job overview
We are looking for a suitable applicant to join our Estates Management Team that maintains and develops a substantial Estate at one of the country's foremost Teaching Foundation Trusts.
Provide a flexible, high quality and responsive stores service to ensure that spares, parts and materials are available to the Operational Maintenance team.
Main duties of the job
Issue and recovery of consumable material, tools and equipment; keeping and retaining the appropriate and accurate records
Receipt and checking of all deliveries to the store and dealing with any associated problems, e.g. quality, quantity, and damage.
Answer queries and give advice to maintenance operatives, Estates technical officers etc., regarding stores enquiries
Updating computerised stock control system

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Clean UK driving license
Desirable criteria
- Familiar with information technology using computers
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and Outlook
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of Electronic Stock Control
- Experience within a previous industrial/commercial stores environment, involving building / engineering stores and equipment items
- Extensive applied experience within typical stores environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of stock taking
- Trained in the approved handling and lifting techniques, within Health and Safety definitions
- Good sound knowledge and awareness of building/engineering material components etc, across the various specified trade groups
Further training
Essential criteria
- Sound in-date awareness knowledge of Health and Safety within stores areas
Desirable criteria
- Sound in-date knowledge regarding the processing of COSHH data sheets for stored materials
Special skills / apptitudes
Essential criteria
- Must be able to demonstrate a good level of methodical numerical accuracy
- Must be able to demonstrate a good level of literacy skills
Desirable criteria
- Able to demonstrate a good level of verbal communication
- Able to demonstrate a good level of written communication skills

- Must be able to demonstrate an active commitment to quality and customer care
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with the minimum of supervision.
- Must be able to drive & undertake a driving assessment to become an approved driver for trust vehicles
