Job overview
This a Fixed term part time GP Clinical Assistant post at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The session is specifically available to support urgent cancer clinics on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. These sessions are available immediately and until August 2025.
Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required and Entry on the GP Specialist Register is essential. Should the appointee not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required.
Main duties of the job

The appointee will work within the dermatology department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital . The duties of the post will be contributing to the departments Urgent and Suspect Cancer superclinic that runs on Wednesdays, with a mix of clinician types under consultant supervision seeing new patients referred on an Urgent Suspected Cancer pathway.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Name appears on the GMC GP register
Clinical experience
Essential criteria
- An interest in Dermatology
- Evidence of experience in dermatology
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in outpatient Dermatology Clinics.
- Diploma in Dermatology
Research
Essential criteria
- Ability to critically assess published research
Desirable criteria
- Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
Teaching and training
Essential criteria
- Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training
Continuous Professional Development
Essential criteria
- Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months of employment
Desirable criteria
- Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
Clinical governance and audit
Essential criteria
- Experience in performing clinical audit
Desirable criteria
- Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project
