This is an exciting opportunity to join the Dermatology Team.
The successful candidate will be joining an experienced Team of Medical Secretaries who provide secretarial and administration support to a large team of consultants.
The post holder will need to have excellent work typing skills. Previous relevant secretarial experience is desirable.
The post holder will need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work with colleagues from a variety of professions and backgrounds. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
To support the medical secretaries in providing a high standard of secretarial and clerical support for the medical staff and their team. To provide cover for medical secretaries in their absence ensuring a 5 day service. Actively contribute to the smooth running of the Department.
A key part of the role will be ensuring the delivery of an efficient and high quality service to patients and therefore the post holder will require extensive experience of working in a healthcare, customer care or retail/hospitality setting. Familiarity with Trust systems such as Lorenzo, ICE, and Digital Dictation are also desirable.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English at grade C or above
- NVQ/RSA or OCR Level 3, or relevant secretarial, admin and clerical experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Microsoft packages
- Medical Audio/word processing Qualification

- Admin/Secretarial/Audio typing experience

- Previous NHS experience

Further Training

- Knowledge of 18 Week RTT

- Knowledge of STH specific policies such as the Access Policy.
- Experience of using the medical secretarial module in Lorenzo (or other hospital system)
