We are looking to recruit an experienced band 7 Clinical Scientist/Specialist GI Physiologist on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Your primary role will be working in an adult specialist Clinical Gastro-intestinal physiology service, including upper and lower GI investigations and treatments including neuromodulation.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.

Your primary role will be to provide service delivery by undertaking diagnostic GI Physiological investigations and by contributing to the day to day running of the Unit. You will also help to co-ordinate and support further development of the service, and participate in education, audit and research.
You must have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and be able to demonstrate clinical expertise and effective decision making skills in relation to providing specialist care and support to patients with complex problems.
GI Physiology covers a wide spectrum of diseases and regions of the gut, and offers the opportunity to be involved with not just with investigation, but also treatment of patients.
