Working for our organisation

Endcliffe Ward is an integral part of the acute inpatient services in SHSC and is responsible for intensively caring for individuals experiencing moderate to severe mental health crisis. Within the acute inpatient services Endcliffe interfaces with internal services and external agencies. In early 2020 a goal of reducing our length of stay was highlighted within our governance data and feedback from both service users and staff, therefore the PICU pathway was created. The PICU pathway highlights inclusion exclusion criteria for admissions and details pathways from inpatient and community settings into PICU. This collaborative piece of work has shaped our service and significantly improved out length of stay data to align with NAPICU standards of no longer then 56 days. SHSC have allocated departments that support our inpatient wards to reduce restrictive practices in which Endcliffe play a key part in as we will be the only inpatient services to have seclusion facilities in Sheffield.  We are also part of a National Research program for reducing restrictive practice which involved opportunities for networking across the country and with other similar services to improve our service and systems.
