Job Purpose
ReSTORE was established in April 2023 and stands for Refugee Support Training Orientation Recruitment and Education and supports refugee nurses and midwives:
1- into employment
2- to register with the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council.
3- with their pastoral needs
ReSTORE’s vision is to see refugee nurses and midwives find meaningful employment in the careers they trained for. It is the only programme in the UK that focusses uniquely on refugee nurses and midwives.
Main duties of the job
The role will develop therapeutic and nurturing relationships with ReSTORE participants, recognising that they may have experienced many challenges in their lives and often still do. ReSTORE uses a trauma informed model of practice and prides itself on supporting the participants pastorally.
You will also be encouraged to attend conferences and events where you will educate people about the ReSTORE programme and network with stakeholders.
You will support the participants with their administration, completing documentation for job applications and submitting documents/information to the NMC
You will become an ambassador for the refugee cause and counter the hostile rhetoric that often surrounds migration.
You will participate is appropriate and relevant research projects, and support the participants in participating in research if it is their wish.
