We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate, innovative and motivated Clinical Psychologist to Join our Getting Help Team within RDASH CAMHS.
The post holder will join an established multidisciplinary team providing assessments, formulation work and therapeutic interventions for children and young people presenting with mental health difficulties. Excellent therapeutic skills, communication skills, close working with other members of the multidisciplinary team will be essential.
The post is ideally suited to a qualified clinical psychologist with a particular interest in CAMHS. Part time and job share applications will be considered.
There are strong links with the Clinical Psychology training course at the University of Sheffield and there are always trainees on placement within the Department. The Child Psychology Service is strongly committed to personal and professional development.

Main duties of the job
- Provides highly specialist psychological assessment of clients with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources.
- Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of children who may be at risk.
- Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and provides specialist advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- Formulates plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or management of clients’ mental health conditions based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice. Negotiates the implementation of such plans with clients and/or their carers.
- Implements a range of highly specialist psychological therapies for individual clients, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
- Undertakes highly skilled evaluations of therapy options and makes decisions about treatment options.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
- Continued professional development through structured self-study, specialist clinical supervision, and/or relevant combination of short courses
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
