Job overview

Are you passionate about offering high quality psychological interventions for people with Complex Emotional Needs (CENS)? Would you like to support our drive to promote psychological approaches and trauma informed care? If so, you may be interested in working with us for the Recovery Focussed Team.

The Recovery Focussed Team is a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) with different pathways. This post is based within the CENS pathway. In the CMHT you will alongside Clinical Psychologists, as well as an Assistant Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Psychiatry, Nurse Consultants, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners and Support Workers.

Community mental health services in North Lincolnshire have recently benefitted from over £1m investment. We have invested in psychological provision as part of the NHS long term plan. This is an exciting time to join the care group as services transform over the coming years with improved connections with other healthcare agencies in the area.

Main duties of the job

Our psychological therapists currently offer a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

The service values its staff and invests in their development. This post is open to candidates who would like to train at band 6 as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist on a two-year funded University diploma aimed at working with people with CENS. Upon successful completion of the diploma the candidate would then move up to band 7 as a qualified CBT therapist.

This is a primarily clinical role offering individual/family psychological therapies to help reduce our waiting times in North Lincolnshire. Depending on your experience and interests, the role can also include consultation, supervision, service development, teaching, and research.

We have good links with our local Clinical Psychology and CBT course at the University of Hull and other training providers. Within our team, we currently undertake a mixture of home and office based (hybrid) working depending on the needs of the service.
