This is a very exciting opportunity based within the Education and Research Directorate at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).
As the Education Lead for Medical Students, there will be an expectation to strategically lead the team to support the development and maintenance of high-quality assured practice/clinical attachments which meets the requirements of all governing bodies, whilst giving all learners an excellent high quality and innovative education experience.
You must demonstrate a clear passion for education with a significant, recognised post qualification which reflects good clinical/education experience with an appetite to implement local, regional & national quality assurance drivers to ensure that DBTH becomes the provider of choice for learning, which will ultimately support the organisations future workforce.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Head of Education (Practice Learning), the post holder is responsible for the provision of undergraduate medical education services across the Trust including the planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching & learning activities, training programmes for medical students, physician associates (PA’s) & other advanced practice roles.
The post holder will provide senior management support for all the undergraduate speciality leads; phase leads, teaching fellows, specialist foundation doctors (supporting medical education); administrative staff and wider undergraduate faculty to develop, manage and deliver a range of high quality and cost-effective undergraduate provision across the Trust to meet the required standards set out by NHS England, Medical School and the GMC.

Essential criteria
- At least 3 years post-registration experience
- Experience of working within an education environment (mentorship/practice supervision/ assessment to students in practice)
- Demonstrates understanding and experience of mentor/student assessment processes
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Recognised healthcare professional qualification
- Registration with NMC/HCPC
- Evidence of Degree in Health-related subject or working towards or equivalent experience
- Recognised qualification relating to teaching or supporting learners in practice or equivalent experience
Organisational Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Good time management
- Ability to work across professional boundaries
- Knowledge of current issues affecting education in healthcare including quality monitoring issues and the modernisation of the NHS
- An ability to manage difficult situations
