Diagnostic Systems Management Analyst

A new position has been created for a Diagnostic Systems Management Analyst working with IT systems management staff with responsibility for administration and upkeep the Trust’s main clinical and operational computer systems.

Reporting to the Clinical Systems Manager, the post-holder will apply and develop specialist knowledge to assist with maintenance and support of various imaging computer systems, including our RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) and other specialty platforms, liaising across a multi-disciplinary team of service users ensuring efficient delivery of clinical services. In addition to possessing first-rate skills in professional clinical systems management, it will therefore be advantageous for the successful candidate to also have working knowledge of the DICOM and HL7 standards and their application.

The post holder will be involved in changes and updates to RIS, PACS and other systems related to clinical imaging and their interfaces to / interoperability with various other computer applications. This will involve testing, and the introduction of new working methodologies; working with colleagues on design, delivery, maintenance, and support work associated with these systems.

The post-holder will predominantly be expected to work on a shift-basis but occasional out of hours working may be needed.

To take ownership as an Information Asset Administrator (IAA) for several Imaging computer systems, including RIS and PACS; helping to promote a culture of continuous quality and service improvement.

To support and lead (where applicable and delegated by the lead Clinical Systems Manager) on the development of the Trust’s use of Imaging computer systems.

Responsible for monitoring incoming requests from the IT Service Desk and resolution and escalation of issues in line with service level agreements (SLA’s), liaising and working closely with colleagues within Digital, various divisional areas and with Information Asset Owners (IAO’s) and external partners and suppliers as necessary, to manage, investigate and resolve complex incidents and problems.

Supervise the day-to-day work of the Systems Support Officers and provide them with training, support, and advice in relation to their duties.

Produce structured test scripts and test changes to Imaging systems, including new releases / enhancements and patches / bug-fixes, prior to their promotion to the next staging area and ultimately into live use, and assisting in the assessment of user training needs as necessary in relation to the changes.

Work with the lead Clinical Systems Manager to review release notes and propose service changes as necessary, including changes to Standard Operating Procedures and Disaster recovery and Business Continuity plans for Imaging systems.
