With the ability to access shifts across the whole of the AWP Trust you could book a shift at a variety of sites and settings, such as Salisbury, Swindon, Weston Super Mare, Bristol, Bath and Devizes.

The Team are currently looking to recruit to its already expanding base, for flexible and diverse staff to help populate shifts across the Trust. The opportunity is just too good to miss. We are looking for you to fill our Band 4 Mental Health worker positions. Exact pay point will be advised following interview and will be commensurate with experience and skills.
Mental Health worker positions are community based, and require some previous experience of risk formulation and management, also of knowledge of recovery tools.

Main duties of the job
Promote and value the rights, responsibilities and diversity of service users.
Promote and maintain effective communication with service users in order to build and sustain positive working relationships with individuals, families and carers, team members and other agencies. This may include accessing translation and interpreting services.
Contribute to the planning, implementation and review of care packages, including implementing specific parts of an individual care plan on behalf of different care professionals.
Promote continuity of care by maintaining regular contact with service users during episodes of inpatient treatment, liaising closely with the ward/hospital and helping to facilitate early discharge.
Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient activity, writing reports and letters.
Enable people to understand and manage their mental health needs in line with their care plan and relapse prevention strategies.
Enabling people to explore a range of behavioural responses and to develop
coping strategies in liaison with appropriate specialist teams.
Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse and harm in line with local policies and procedures.
Develop own knowledge and practice, making use of supervision and available learning opportunities.
Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.

Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate a general understanding of mental health issues with a positive, non-judgemental approach towards people requiring mental health services.
- The ability, with supervision, to manage own workload in an effective and timely manner.
