Job overview
We are looking for one additional person to join a team of highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologists based in the ADHD service. This is a full-time, Band 4 position, fixed term for 6 months.
ADHD is an expanding and innovative team, providing services to adults with and seeking an ADHD diagnosis across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset. The successful candidates will contribute to a waiting list validation project which we will be starting; managing a newly developed digital health technology, administering and interpreting psychometric questionnaires. You will also be supporting patients, and staff within the service. The service is developing and the successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of a new service model.
Main duties of the job
You will help carry out the project to help validate the current ADHD waiting list, administering outcome measures as required and contribute to clinical decision making regarding complexity. You will make contributions to clinical research, service evaluation and development – collecting, analysing and reporting upon an array of statistics to help monitor the patient population being seen by the service. You will assist in delivering specialist training to others, and contribute to a highly specialist multidisciplinary team.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills are also essential to the role, as is experience with data management. Experience of working with adults who have a neurodevelopmental condition is preferred. Supervision will be provided by an experienced clinical psychologist.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assist the multi-disciplinary diagnostic team in collecting psychometric data, and supporting patients to engage with the service.
To contribute to the ongoing running and evaluation of the Adult ADHD Service.
To assist in the delivery and evaluation of the waiting list validation project being undertaken by the service.
To contribute to clinical decision making to help identify complex patients, and feedback to them service decisions.
To deliver teaching and training in collaboration with a qualified Clinical Psychologist and other members of the team.
To undertake literature reviews, research and service evaluation activities under the guidance of the Lead Clinical Psychologist
To undertake continuing professional development and clinical supervision.

Essential
Essential criteria
- Good honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above)
- Experience of undertaking psychological assessment under supervision
- Experience of conducting research/clinical audit
- Demonstrates enthusiasm/commitment/respect for this client group & understands challenges faced
- Excellent written communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate research experience
- Understanding of common mental health problems and their management in primary care
- Experience of co-facilitating groups
- Statistical knowledge
